9Dragons a free to play MMORPG from Acclaim has entered open beta. 9Dragons is based on martial arts and has a complex fighting system to give every character a lot of combination moves and uniqueness. The land will constantly change with new cities and events as you move up in the clan system that is very unique. 9Dragons has 9 clans of which you can join (6 starter clans and 3 advanced clans). With each clan comes a different training style and a different style of fighting. A focus is placed on group play and the game also promises special events and luck to those groups with exactly 9 people. The game is also leading the pack for best pvp at MMOSite.com.
Acclaim is introducing one US server (Nirvana) and one European server (Bardo) during the open beta test. There will also be significant changes to the PVP system in 9Dragons.
From the website:

"Initially, we had planned to offer some servers as PK and some servers as non-PK, but in response to player demand, and to insure common gameplay, we have created a single type of hybrid server for Open Beta, where PK is available on every level except for the very low starter areas, which are safe zones. Safe zones include all six starter villages, plus Shi Zhang (for Black Clans) and Zhengzhou (for White Clans). PVP remains available in the town of Hefei. PK is now available on all other maps, be forewarned!"

You can download the game from the 9Dragons web site.

UPDATE: Due to the outcry from the 9Dragons community, Acclaim has change the PVP back to the original system. Here's the post from CEO Howard Marks:

We want to offer our sincere apologies to the entire 9Dragons community. We should have notified you of such a major upcoming change to gameplay beforehand, and allowed more community involvement in this decision. We realize that PK vs. non-PK is a very important player preference, and we respect both types of play. Unfortunately, our hybrid solution appears unacceptable to all of our non-PK players. Therefore, effective immediately, we will be reversing the changes to PK and reverting both the Nirvana (US) and Bardo (EU) servers to their Pre-Open Beta status (Dueling in Hefei and PK in Bloody Plain will remain). For those of you who enjoy the PK action, we will be opening up an additional PK (US) server in the coming weeks, and we invite you to begin new characters there. Based on its success, we will decide if and when to release a European PK server. Thanks for your support in helping us improve 9Dragons and in the future please rest assured we will consult you on any major changes to the game.

Our review is also done, 9Dragons Review.
