Here's some upcoming PC releases that is happening this week that I thought I should mention

• Project Torque is entering open beta on Monday, October 8th. Sign up here.
• Neverwinter Nights 2 Expansion Pack: Mask of the Betrayer is coming out on Tuesday, October 9th. Sign up for Google Checkout from Buy.com and get it for $22 shipped.
• Half-Life 2: Orange Box will be released on Wednesday, October 10th.
• Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has a demo coming out on Thursday, Oct. 11th. See the preview at Yahoo Games.
• Twelve Sky will enter open beta on Friday, October 12th. Sign up for beta at the official site.
• Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising is entering closed beta at some point this week, sign up here.

A new video was posted over at YouTube about the freedom that Assassin's Creed gives you. This is probably the most highly anticipated RPG coming in the spring of 2008. The freedom and interactivity aspects are going to be amazing. The detail and freedom features of Assassin's Creed have also been talked about over at Rage Gaming.

This second video is of an interview with Jayde Raymond on several features of the game. She does let everyone know that there will be no demo of the game. The game is so non-linear, she says it would be impossible to divide off part of it for a demo. I think this game is really going to blow role-playing fans away.

I just realized yesterday that the template I had was breaking at 1024x768 because of some recent changes I made . So I decided it was a good time to update my template to reflect some of the things that I've been thinking about. I basically customized the Amadou theme which is a 3-column layout for Drupal. I'm pretty pleased with the changes so far, but have some tweaking to do. Also need to add some accessibility updates. Hope the new version is a bit more readable and usable.

Baseball Mogul 2007 lets you be the manager of a Pro, AAA, or High School team, even down to calling each pitch that is thrown. It was the best-selling baseball game in 2006, and it's now a free download. If you like accurate simulations, managing contracts, trading players, drafting, and like to play around with baseball statistics, this might be the game for you.

There are a few news items making it around the gaming blogs circuit that you probably have already heard about, but hey, you never know. There might be 2 people out there that read this blog and doesn't know about them.

Unreal Tournament 3 requirements -- Everyone in the blogosphere has posted about this one, I thought I better too. There is some question about the recommended requirements only requiring an ATI x1300. If that's all it needs, then almost any computer that is still running will be able to play the game.

Gears of War for PC announcement -- Will this be the first real test for Games for Windows Live since Halo 2? We'll see on November 6th.

Half-Life 2: Episode 2 is pre-loading on Steam -- Get your copy now because it will be unlocked on October 10th. I love Steam, no more keeping up with CD's and CD keys.

Tabula-Rasa pushed back 2 weeks -- Hopefully, this means that I have another two weeks of beta to enjoy. :)

Second-Life over-hyped -- I agree that this game has gotten a lot of hype, but I'm not sure anyone should throw in the towel just yet. This game just needs refinement to try to mimic the real world as much as possible.
