An inspired @JesseCox guides a reckless crew through the mysterious world that is Tales of the Loop.
RollPlay Oddballs is set in a mysterious science fiction world where strange things are brought to you by covert government projects. Tales from the Loop is normally set in the 80s, but this story takes place in a likely more relatable 1992. It is a rules-light, story-driven system that works well for TTRPG streaming.
In his debut as a game master on RollPlay, @JesseCox guides like a pro. In spite of the players almost working against the plot at times, Jesse seems to take it in stride. And as you try to figure out what is going to happen next, he builds a maze to entertain you and keep the players baffled.
The cast has a good chemistry and plays their parts well. But @elspetheastman stands out as a scrappy 13-year-old who unknowingly becomes central to the story. @MorganWebb, @Octopimp, @CinnamonToastK aren’t new to to roleplaying, sticking to their archetypes almost to a fault. This seems to actually help create the suspense since you have no idea what they are going to do next.
The production is great as well. No duh, right? @itmejp has a history of putting together great visuals, and smooth audio. The RollPlay series has some of the most consistent technical quality in TTRPG streaming.
So take a chill pill and watch RollPlay Oddballs. Even if you have never heard of Tales from the Loop, I think you’ll find this series is 2 Legit 2 Quit.
